For this editorial spread created for University Girl, I designed a layout inspired by themes of beauty, self-expression, and individuality. The magazine encourages bold, creative experimentation, which led me to take a more expressive and layered approach to this design.
I combined clean, structured typography with more organic elements, like the lipstick textures, to create contrast and visual interest throughout the spread. The layout balances large headline moments with dense body text, using hierarchy, scale, and spacing to guide the reader through the content without overwhelming them. The use of color and texture helps reinforce the subject matter while adding a more playful and visually engaging tone.
As with my other work for the magazine, I went through multiple rounds of feedback with the head designers, which helped refine both the composition and overall clarity of the layout. This process strengthened my ability to balance experimentation with readability.
This piece reflects my approach to editorial design, combining structure with more expressive elements to create a layout that feels both polished and visually dynamic.
