For this graphic created for University Girl’s article “Rom-Com Realities: The Modern Meet-Cute Dilemma,” I designed a visual that captures a soft, romantic tone while still feeling playful and approachable. The goal was to reflect the emotional warmth of the topic while keeping the design light and engaging for the reader.
I used simplified silhouettes and a pastel color palette to keep the focus on mood rather than detail. Layered heart shapes and subtle texture add depth to the composition while maintaining a clean, editorial feel. The minimal approach allows the imagery to feel expressive without becoming overwhelming.
I focused on creating a balanced composition through color, scale, and spacing, ensuring the design supports the article without distracting from it.
This project reflects my approach to editorial design, using simple visual elements to communicate tone and enhance storytelling.
