For this graphic created for University Girl’s article “The Beatles Biopic Casting Just Dropped, and So Did Everyone’s Jaws,” I designed a visual that reflects the surprise and speculation surrounding the casting announcement. The goal was to capture both the excitement and uncertainty of the news while clearly connecting to the film theme.
I used bold silhouettes with question mark details to represent the unknown, allowing the figures to feel recognizable yet unresolved. The looping film strip adds a sense of movement and reinforces the cinematic context of the story. I chose a muted, vintage-inspired color palette to reference The Beatles’ era while still maintaining a clean, modern editorial feel.
I focused on creating a composition that balances clarity with intrigue, using hierarchy, shape, and repetition to guide the viewer while encouraging them to engage more closely with the content.
This project reflects my approach to editorial design, combining concept and visual storytelling to create graphics that support and enhance written content.
